Buying a gift for a loved one can be challenging, especially when Christmas, a birthday or special occasion is near.

It may be hard to figure out what they’d like if you feel they have ‘everything’.

Some people are however picky and so buying a gift for them could be difficult.

Most of the time you’d want to give a loved one something they’d like to have above anything else.

Thoughtfulness on the kind of gift on the part of the giver goes a long way to make the recipient happy.

It doesn’t make you feel good if you know that the recipient isn’t happy with the gift and would probably never use it. It would seem like you wasted time and money.

So how do you decide what to give them for the special occasion that would satisfy both your pocket and the recipient?

The straight-forward answer would be to ask them what they want. The matter would be clear-cut if they said what they wanted and if you could afford it, buy it for them.

What if they answered, “I don’t know what I want”?

Some people want you to guess what they want. They want you to read their mind.

What if they answered, “I don’t want anything”?

Both these scenarios would prove difficult, even for the most generous giver!

How do you go about finding the perfect inspirational gift for someone?

Remember, gift-giving is about them; what they like and what they don’t like.

One way to approach it would be to ask other people around them, but that isn’t always possible.

What are their interests, hobbies or what do they need currently?

What books or stories in the Bible interests them? What specific areas do you want to encourage them?

There are many Christian gifts with different scriptures of hope and overcoming situations.

Give children inspirational gifts that will help them in learning and imagining stories in the Bible.

Giving a gift, no matter how small shows you care, and you’ve thought about them.

Most people nowadays prefer unique and meaningful gifts.

You can achieve this with ease by making a unique style of the presentation of the gift. Package, gift-wrap and present with style to win them over, even if the gift is just a mug.

You could personalise your gift-giving further by putting together a hamper of small gifts.

Show them you’ve been thoughtful in choosing the gifts and explain the reasons why you chose the gifts.

Knowing your reasons would connect you to them and make them cherish the gifts for a long time.

For any upcoming special occasions, don’t let the thought of buying gifts terrify you. It feels good to give.

Do your gift shopping early for the occasions and with a little imagination, finding the perfect inspirational gift should be easy!
